Captain Prathvi Singh Dagar

This is not the first time that China has tried to infiltrate the borders of India . In 1967, Chinese troops tried to infiltrate Nathula in the year 1967 from the Galvan Valley  in view of India's low army. The Chinese soldiers felt that during the Sino-Indian war in 1962, the conditions of India would be the same in 1967. But China had to bow down to the valor of Captain Prithvi Singh Dagar, the captain of Delhi. Even today stories of his valor are heard from Nathula to Delhi.
Martyr Captain Prithvi Singh Dagar was posthumously awarded the Virchakra. Not only this, on 11 September 1967, the film 'Paltan' 2018, based on the Chinese incursion and heroism of Captain Dagar, was made by producer and director JP Dutta. In 1967, China had stepped up its activities where Captain Dagar's contingent was stationed. He was tasked with wiring the Nathula pass. On September 11, 1967, at 4:30 in the morning, while the Indian soldiers were doing wire work, 5-7 Chinese soldiers came and started obstructing us, but our soldiers continued to work. Not long after, the Chinese army attacked the Indian army with machine guns and cannons. Captain Dagar was shot in the shoulder during this time, it was difficult to escape due to the open space, so he decided to destroy the machine guns. Along with the troops of his troops, he attacked the Chinese army and killed about 50 Chinese soldiers themselves, during which he himself was martyred. In this war, 300 Chinese soldiers were killed by a handful of Indian soldiers.
Even today there is Dagar Gate in Nathula Pass where his photo has been installed. In his memory, the family has also built a museum in Jafarpur Kalan for the martyr Captain Prithvi Singh Dagar, resident of Malikpur, Najafgarh, where all the information and dress related to the Nathula Pass battle and his life is kept.

Even today, Martyrs Day is celebrated by his family and villagers on 11 September every year in front of his idol at Jaffarpur's Raavata Mode, where he is guarded by 14 Grenadier soldiers. Blessed is the family in which the country like Captain Dagar is born. Captain Dagar was a graduate of Ramjas College, Delhi University.
